Ahh, so the intent of the channel has changed since the card that I got with my trial pack then, because that describes it as 'the nations' only purely acoustic playlist.

Shame, it's what I wanted.

Well, that and the chill out station.

Hi spoco2,

Great to hear that you've given the new station a listen, and to also learn that you are after "unplugged" or "acoustic" material. Naked, however, is all about the live-and-raw, not acoustic per se.

There's no studio material: it's all live to tape, or concert material, and there's a good dose of the jam session in there as well.

So we hope that you give it a listen in that context, and here's looking forward to the next batch of stations to be released.

Great to see some new stations on here, although, I switched on Naked, as that's the station I was most looking forward to, and what do I get? U2: Walk on, with full electric guitars... um... not very acoustic.

Hi spoco2

Favourites, at the moment, are shown on your "home" screen when you are listening to Stripe on your 3G mobile. In the next version of the Stripe radio, we show them integrated with the broadband player.

Regarding your comparisons with services such as Last.fm: Stripe is a live radio service. Our radio team programs real live radio across a number of popular genres. As we expand our content offering, you will be able to hear news, sports, and other time-critical content that on-demand providers cannot provide.

Right now, in the early part of our public Beta, we're focusing on great music. As the website begins to explain, Stripe is not just about music radio.

Regards
Ben from Stripe

I'm actually at a loss as to what favourites do for you. Where do you access them? They don't seem to do anything on the radio itself.

I'm currently failing to see why anyone would actually pay for this service.

The issue with radio is that there are always songs you don't like, and that's where somewhere like lastfm.com comes in.

That's a free service. Put in an artist you like and bingo, a radio station of music like that artist... and then it continually refines itself based on what you listen to and like.

AND you can skip tracks you don't like.

For free.

I have yet to see or hear anything in this service that would make me want to pay anything for it.

And it's not through lack of trying, I'm giving it a good shot here, but keep going back to lastfm or my own mp3s.

merrchant, as we roll out the newest version of our Radio shortly, I suggest adding Favourites via the Station Guide. The Guide is at stripe.com, What's On, then Music.

Each station has an "ADD TO FAVOURITES" button, which will add them to your Favourites for both mobile and web listening.

And then your Favourites can be reordered or removed in "My Profile".

For ongoing support, please use our web-based support ticketing system at http://support.stripe.com or email stripe.support@stripe.com

In this version of the Stripe Web Radio, we find that using the arrow keys to select your station, then selecting play has the best results.

Thanks and enjoy stripe.com.

Looking forward to the new version of the player... just joined up today and having those issues.

Also, it's not obvious when the player isn't supposed to be playing, so I sat for quite some time waiting for the music to begin, when it was in 'stop' mode.

As for radio stations... I think my favourites will be those that aren't there yet: Naked, Rage, Chill Out.

Of those there already are, only Deep cuts and Next play anything remotely different to what you already hear on commercial radio.

The audio quality is good though, I'll give it that. (on pc this is)
